THE KLIN GROUP KILMARNOCK JOIN FORCES WITH SOS ‘SUPPORT OUR SOLDIERS’ BUSINESS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN JULY/AUGUST 2008

Kilmarnock property developers and investment company the Klin group came out fighting this week in support of SOS Support our Soldiers campaign.  Klin group chairwoman Marie Macklin said: -

“Having learned about the SOS campaign from the local newspapers, radio station West FM, and noting my father’s support for our boys and girls in Afghanistan and Iraq, Klin have decided to THROW their weight behind this campaign. This is about our soldiers and not the War, they deserve to know we all care and are thinking of them.

SOS is a non-political charity that is doing a great job and is operated by families of serving soldiers. I would suggest your readers take a look at the SOS web page www.supportoursoldiers.co.uk, which is very informative and details the charity’s aims and how business or individuals can help.”

Be it a financial donation, toiletries, socks, food, magazines or a get well card to a serviceman/woman in hospital, the SOS group collect and pack the items up and send them on where required. SOS also organise fundraising events and work tirelessly to keep the troops’ morale high.

Klin have decided to donate through their upmarket Property Rental Company Klincribs.com. The packages from Klin will include Klin Cribber BOXES which will include a vast array of essential items from the list above and fun items including CDs, Magazines.

The Klincrib Penthouse at Barclay House Kilmarnock is also being donated to Service personnel and their partners for luxury weekend breaks on their return from Afghanistan and Iraq FREE OF CHARGE. The total  Klincrib package is worth £10K.

Macklin said, “I am looking for other local businesses and individuals to ‘Board Ship’ with SOS and Klin to offer any discounts or donations to this campaign. Our target is to have 100 SOS Collection Tins in prominent local businesses’ reception areas or at shop tills; all donations received go directly to SOS for further essential supply boxes. There is even a chance to run your own  sponsorship events, like fun runs, etc . A local business man has also suggested it’s an opportunity for business to offer Complimentary Cinema Tickets, Restaurant Vouchers, Football Tickets, Toiletries, CDs, Packaging Materials, Gift Cards, Sweets, Non Perishable Food, Books/ Magazines in fact anything that is the business’s core trade. So watch out at local shops for the new ‘SOS Business Awareness’ posters.”
